Hello friends and family! I hope you all are doing well and have had a blessed week!
It is the final week in South Africa, and I am so grateful for the time we were able to spend here. It truly has been a huge blessing, and I’m so grateful for the beautiful relationships that I have built here. My heart is burdened to leave, but I am very excited to be able to go to the next place God has called us to! God is so good and has taught me so much while I have been here.
This week was a busy week but a fantastic week of ministry. We had a normal week of ministry this week, we were able to help teach the kids some school this week and were able to help them learn new things like numbers and letters. It’s so fun to watch kids learn and grow and I’m so grateful for the experience of children’s ministry. God has worked so much in these kids’ lives and just been with them every step of the way and it is clear that they see that and that their family sees that! I’m so grateful for their testimony of Jesus! There were many times the kids would come to me and tell me something about what they learned about Jesus or the relationship they had with Jesus that is just precious.
Not only did we have a normal week of ministry we also did a conference for the women and older children at the orphanage who spend day in and day out to care for these children and their beautiful family and home. We just spent a couple of minutes sharing what God is doing, enjoyed food, got to know one another a little better, pained our nails, washed our feet, and took some pictures. These people spend every day just working from sun up to sun down, we wanted to do something to help them understand how loved and cherished by God they were. Our beautiful leaders of Beauty for Ashes, Ana, and Lexi, had the idea of putting on a Beauty for Ashes conference for these women so they could understand the love of Jesus for them in a new way and help them to know they are seen. The conference was very successful and just beautiful!
Yesterday, was our last day of ministry in our normal spots. It was really hard for me and my whole team. It was a see you later not a goodbye but still very sad. We prayed together and just enjoy the time together. The connection we made with these people this trip were so strong and good!
Finally, this weekend we were able to spend some time at the church and volunteer with the kids. We did a little bit of a VBS thing with them on Friday night and Saturday morning! It was so good to just spend time with them and be able to serve in that way.
I have really learned how much I love children’s ministry this trip and I’m so grateful that I get to do children’s ministry here.
We leave this evening for a couple of days of debrief before heading off to Eswatini! Stay tuned to see how God works there what God teaches us and how he uses me and my team there.
Please pray for safe travels. Please pray that we will be able to refresh ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. Please pray for our next experience in Eswatini and that God will be the center of everything that we do.
Thank you for the prayers! God bless you all!
Blessings!
